How will you #LightTheWorld?
Jesus said: “Judge not, that ye be not judged.St Matthew 7:1” –
The other day I was discussing this scripture with some friends. Too often in today’s world, we make quick and fast judgments on people. This is especially true in the online world. How many times have I judged someone because of their political beliefs or social standing?
I was listening to a great talk a few days ago about communicating and really listening to people. (Find it here). When I listen to people to understand them, it is easier for me to love them and not judge them.
A story was brought up about a family that lost a child to a drunk driver just two weeks ago. It was mentioned that the parents frankly forgave the driver, even though the drive was clearly in the wrong.
How will you #LightTheWorld?
WAYS YOU CAN SHOW COMPASSION
Ask for the person’s forgiveness today.
Take time to really listen and try to understand the person’s point of view.
Help to overcome this habit by saying nice things behind people’s backs.
