Week 3: Awesome Week / The Things That I Do On The Mission

Hello Guys🤗

This past few weeks have been amazing, cause I got to learn to be a floor manager, got to help a family find their grandparent’s, got to tell people what to do….. JK.

Last week on the 4th of July I went on a hike to the State Capital and to the park. Not sure what the park called but it was cool to see trees, flowers, dogs, and the river. By the way don’t ask why the trees, flowers and the river were cool! 😀

Utah State Capitol

I got to watch a movie, it was very awesome and very sad at the same time. The movie was called the Instrument of War. If you have the chance, go see this movie is amazing. I cried for this movie.

Before the movie, I got to play sports with the other elders and played dodgeball, kickball, Zombie dodgeball and other games/sports. After sports/games, we/ elders all ate lunch. For lunch, we ate pork and chicken sandwiches it was very yummy. (PS I’m Not very good with big words so yeah just letting you know.!!!!!😆 Love all!❤!) Then we watched a movie. So that’s what happened on the 4th of July.

The things that I do on the mission.

For the mission, I do the discovery zone. The 2nd week of the mission I was transferred to the Discovery Zone, which now I’m on.

For this zone, there are 5 floors. The first floor is the main floor which I work at. The main floor is the floor with all the big screen T.V. ( It’s touchscreen by the way, it’s awesome!!!) It’s fun floor basically for the family who has kids. Also can be adults place too. My job for the main floor is to watch closely for any danger that could harm the employees or the people. I secure the area in case there’s an emergency. Which is the floor manager which is me. yea but only get to do this for an hour. Dang it!

Capitol

For every hour you switch jobs with another person. But most of the day I would be floor manager. I also could be an assistant floor manager. Meaning you do the same job but report to the main floor manager.

Jobs for the main floor are ROVER, GREETER, IPAD DESK, INFO DESK, RESEARCH CLASS, ASST. MANAGER, FLOOR MANAGER etc.

Companion

Rover

A Rover is a person who walks around the floor straightens things up for the next guest and helps guests recover their username and passwords. They would also help guests with their FamilySearch and answer any questions about what stuff they need help with. Rover would also check the screen if anything is wrong with it and they would tell the floor manager about it.

Companion

Greeter

A Greeter is a person who welcomes guests as they come in. The Greeter would also be called a Host. Their job is to welcome and explain what we do here in FamilySearch. They would also lead people to the right floor.

Cheerios

iPad Desk

iPad Desk is where you take care of the iPad by cleaning it. They would also give iPad to guests. The iPad person would also make sure that the guests have passwords or username to login to the Ipad. They would lead the guests on what to do with the Ipad and explain why theres big screen tv.

Companion

Info Desk

Info Desk is where he/she would be right by the door where the guests come in an out. Info desk would also answer peoples questions about where to park, or where is the closest places to eat. ect.
He/She would also check the persons bag if any books or Ipad gets stolen or maybe forgotten to put away. The Info Desk would know if books or Ipad is stolen/forgotten by the beep beep thing goes off. (The thing that you go through to make sure that you don’t have anything dangerous and it beeps)

Research Class

For Research class I don’t really know much about it cause I don’t really work as a research class.

I’m sure there are more jobs that I don’t know yet. But hey I get to do all these jobs tho yea!!!!! Oh, I don’t do a lot of ASL, which is sad.

Another thing I do on the mission is going to a lot of meetings/class.
In class we would talk about how to be a good companion later in the future( THE WIFE )
But mainly how to get along with your companion.
I learn alot from the class. I learn how to stay in tune with the Spirit. I get to hear alot of amazing stories from the leaders and seniors. They each have meaning to the lessons it was great to hear what they have to say.

It’s been a very spiritual week for me, cause I got to learn and be able to understand about the church and how they work around the clock to help find missing ancestors/family that was lost. They would do there very best to serve the Lord with a smile on the face, cause they knew Heavenly Father would be happy and would put a smile on His face as they would work hard and do their part to serve.
