How will you #LightTheWorld?
Jesus taught: “…I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” – St Matthew 25:36
Many years ago I was living in Walla-Walla Washington. I had the opportunity to visit the Washington State Penitentiary.
I was giving the opportunity to talk to a few of the prisoners, with some of them serving life without the possibility of parole.
Just as this prison stopped these people from having the freedoms that we enjoy, addiction is another (often times silent) prison. The loss of hope for the future is at times overwhelming. When you can’t see how anything could or would ever change, having anyone stop by for a visit is a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.
If Christ were on the earth today, I believe he would be found helping people in the prison systems and addiction recovery systems.
How will you #LightTheWorld?
Some prisons are literal, physical institutions, but other “prisons” include physical and mental afflictions, and addictions. Reach out to those who are feeling trapped and let them know they’re not alone.
