Yes, it happened again.

A person in power abused that power.  A person died.

It happens in our society where we are able to exercise our God-given rights of freedom to choose our actions.

This time it was an officer of the law and a person in his custody.  As you watch the news over the past years this same abuse has taken many forms:

  • Officers  abusing their power
  • Teachers abusing their power
  • Clergy abusing their power
  • Elected officials abusing their power

But George Floyd abuse is different, and nobody is talking about the difference and positive changes.  If we don’t recognize the positive change, the changes might slip through our fingers and be lost.

The change I’m talking about is how Justice is happening for George Floyd.

Let’s look at the timeline over the past week:

  • George Floyd died on Monday, May 25th about 8:30pm
  • The officers involved were fired on Tuesday, May 26th
    • It is difficult to fire a police officer without a very long-drawn-out process.
    • It was such a horrible act they were fired immediately
  • Derek Chauvin (the officer kneeling on George Floyd) is charged with Murder on Friday, May 29th.
    • Four days is a short time between a crime being committed and an arrest.

Should George Floyd have died?  NO!

Is justice being served for George Floyd?  YES!

Looting stores, burning cars and buildings, and other violence does not help George Floyd receive justice.

I see people calling for change, but when there is change happening they ignore the change.

Choose to see the change!

The justice of someone is a very slow process.  The process is happening for George Floyd.  See the Change.

And stop the violence and looting.
